sure. we use cameras. get a good square shot of each page, assemble them all in a pdf including the covers, upload the pdf. we use 600 ppi at actual dimensions but 300ppi has fine results.

Thanks for the quick response I have a Nikon DSLR camera I can use for actual ebooks so 600 dpi should not be a problem I'll set up a steady rig so photos are straight and angled properly and consistently, I figured using a camera would be better then scanner as to not damage books. Please help avoid damaging the books by making a holder that does not fully opens the book. This will help keep the books spine from cracking.
